Wordle

I found this today on A Hunger Artist (Bob always finds the good stuff).

From the Wordle website:
Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide.

Hours of fun for the whole family. Here's a word cloud of this very website.
I suppose I'm a little fixated on bread. Click the image to enlarge it.

Perhaps your obsession with bread is a byproduct of having grown up in a place with great bread (Brooklyn, right?) and now living at a latitude that does not, an probably cannot, know great bread at all?

Actually, my obsession with bread is a byproduct of growing up Italian-American in largely Italian-American neighborhoods (Brooklyn was not one of them, although I certainly spent a lot of time there during my formative years). North Jersey had its share of great bread and pizza, as did Springfield and Boston Massachusetts (well, not so much pizza in Boston).

I've been to some wonderful bakeries, but the bread I remember most was made at home. All four of my grandparents were from Italy, and my parents carried on their cooking tradition; it's that tradition more than any particular bread that I want to remember.

You're probably right; Puerto Rico will not know great bread. Puerto Ricans simply have no tradition of bread, and the climate is not bread-friendly. But we will have great bread, even if I have to make it myself. :-)
